Meet the Aunties

Sarah Adams-Cornell (Choctaw)

Sarah lives in Oklahoma City and is the Co-Founder of Matriarch Non-Profit and the Vice President of the Sovereign Community School Board.  She serves on several other boards including the ACLU of Oklahoma, Not Your Mascot, Live Indigenous OK, and is a member of the Central Oklahoma Two Spirit Society.

 “I joined The Auntie Project because I can't be complicit to children suffering in our backyard. Knowing the fallout and generational trauma that follows when children are stolen from their families and the kinship that exists between our community and the children at Fort Sill is more than enough reason to do something.

I know the impact that a kind auntie can have during a dark time and it's my honor to pass on what relatives have done for me.”
